JNL-G — Digital twin of the French National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Grenoble — is an ANR project involving LNCMI and IRMA / Cemosis at the University of Strasbourg. It is funded for 48 months under grant ANR-25-CE46-1157.
It connects magnet simulations with power-supply and cooling models and measured data. Its goals include improved design, predictive maintenance and management of energy and water resources.
Cemosis contributes multiphysics models, model order reduction, uncertainty quantification and data assimilation, using Feel++ and NumPEx / Exa-MA methods.
JNL-G extends the HiFiMagnet work initiated in 2011. The digital twin is under development: modelling and measurement analysis are the first steps before predictions can feed back into operations.
PhD research
Pierre-Antoine Senger started his PhD on 6 January 2026, supervised by Christophe Prud’homme, working on multiphysics and reduced-order models for the digital twin.
