A very interesting article by Volker Mehrmann. Volker is a member of the scientific committee of AMIES and is a very active member of EU-MATHS-IN. He states clearly the current issues that plagues industrial mathematics all over the world (including in the US) and proposes some solutions to the various actors. Some of these solutions is the on-the-fly project funding (about a month from applying to funding) proposed by AMIES, the so-called PEPS.
AMIES aims at 30 PEPS funded in 2016 (a 20% growth from last year).
